SPONSORSHIP PAINTS A BRIGHT PICTURE FOR NEW STUDENTS
September 2009

Maxwell MacLaurin has been shortlisted in this year’s Arts & Business Scotland Awards for its work with the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) for the formation of portfolio clinics to help people gain access to the internationally acclaimed School.

Launched last year, the portfolio clinics are open to people who have not gone through the usual route of preparing and applying for the GSA while attending secondary schools.

Nineteen clinics have been held throughout the year at venues in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.

The clinics have been so successful that four people have been accepted onto various courses at the GSA and will be starting when the term starts in October.

Maxwell MacLaurin pledged £30,000 to run the clinics over three years. The firm has now been shortlisted in the New Sponsor category of the Awards and the results will be announced in October.

Peter Duff, Managing Partner, Maxwell MacLaurin said, “It’s very rewarding to see our sponsorship make a real difference to people’s lives. We’re all very proud.”

Winners will be announced at a dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh on Thursday 1 October.
